Life is lived in at least four dimensions. That which stands out to most of us is our physical life. Another dimension that assumes a large part of our efforts is our financial life. Still another vital part is our religious life. The fourth dimension is our emotional life which may include many things. I choose to include in it our political perpectives. We hope to contribute here tips that may benefit us in each of these areas.
Here is a tip for our emotional life. Do you have all the friends you want? Friends are not always what they are expected to be. Jesus was disappointed in a friend of His, Judas. When He led the authorities out to arrest Jesus, Jesus said to him, "And Jesus said unto him, Friend, wherefore art thou come? Then came they, and laid hands on Jesus, and took him." Matt. 26:50. Jesus was not taken by surprise, for He knew Judas was going to do this, but Jesus , no doubt, felt the disapointment in His "friend." Pro. 17:17 tells us that friends can be counted on. It says, “A friend loveth at all times.” That means that in all circumstances of life a friend will stand by you. In Pro. 18:24 we are told of a friend that sticks closer than a brother. Jesu was so much a Friend that His enemies recognized Him as friend of Tax Collectors and sinners. This we see in Mat_11:19, "The Son of man came eating and drinking, and they say, Behold a man gluttonous, and a winebibber, a friend of publicans and sinners. But wisdom is justified of her children."
Do you have friends like that? How do we acquire such friends? We don’t just stumble on them. They can not be bought. So how do we make friends? Again Proverbs has the answer for us. In Pro. 18:24 we are told how to make friends. It says, “A man that hath friends must shew himself friendly.” Simply put that is just saying, if you would have friends, you must yourself be a friend.
